Board Award - Each year the Para board members have the option of submitting the name of an individual to the board that has shown outstanding service to their library. The board has the option of giving this person a full year's membership to NLA and the Para section. The board member who submitted this individual will be responsible for mentoring them in the ways of NLA & the Para section. This can be through out the year, one Board Award a year, but the most beneficial time would be the first board meeting after fall conference.  The cost of this award would be $35 to $75 depending on the salary of this individual. Tax: Even though NLA is a 501(c)(3) organization, we must pay and collect sales tax. For future sales, you will need to collect the 5.5% state tax plus the appropriate local sales tax, depending on where the sales take place.  For instance, LaVista has a 1.5% local sales tax, so the total sales tax collected would be 7%.There isn't a specific form that you need to submit, but I need information on the location of the sale, the price of the item, amount of tax collected, and total amount collected.
